Everything breaks in my life. It seems everything needs to be troubleSHOT (?).
Here’s one for ya: Don’t go into full-screen mode using Apple Message, formerly iChat, unless you have a half-hour of troubleshooting time to get it back to normal. Well, you don’t have to, because I did it for you. That’s how much time it took me.
So here: If you cannot exit full screen mode of Messenger, because there is no menu available and esc does not work, I have the answer. Press and hold CONTROL, COMMAND and F. I hope that saved you a little stress.

Seth Godin says: “The world has always been organized into tribes, groups of people who want to (need to) connect with each other, with a leader and with a movement. The products, services and ideas that are gaining currency faster than ever are ones that are built on a tribe.”
Tell your story and make sure it is spread-worthy from person-to-person. Make them feel like they are part of a group, then they will make a stronger, emotional connection with your product or service.

Shifting away from the flea market image, ebay has spiffied itself up. Trend or strategic move? from ebay’s site:
Our refreshed logo is rooted in our proud history and reflects a dynamic future. It’s eBay today: a global online marketplace that offers a cleaner, more contemporary and consistent experience, with innovation that makes buying and selling easier and more enjoyable. We retained core elements of our logo, including our iconic color palette. Our vibrant eBay colors and touching letters represent our connected and diverse eBay community.

Angeleno Living is a lifestyle site for Los Angeles home enthusiasts. We are so excited to see this launch. David came to us with a website wireframe and an idea. We put the bran identity together so that it had a solid foundation to build upon (no pun intended).

A Flex Alert is an urgent call to Californians to immediately conserve electricity and to shift demand to off-peak hours (after 6 p.m.).
This campaign really got my attention. I was thinking about why it stayed with me for so long and why I would jump up from my computer to see the commercial. The message was clear, but the thing that got my emotional attention was that it was done tastefully. Not what I expect from SoCal Edison. Yeah-I think that was it. So I turned my AC up to 78 and am sitting in the dark. Props to earthsite.net.

Back in 2009 an article was written about how to design using a creative brief.
I love knowing this helps other designers that really want to seek the voice of their clients.

This is a handy site for those always scouting Google Maps for the half-way point to meet people. My new client, Ann O’Brien, turned me on to this.
“MeetWays.com was created to allow users to find a point of interest between two addresses. ”

But will people really scan it?
GET ONE: Search Google for qr code generator and put in your email address, website, then it will generate in a size you pick. Put the code somewhere smartphone-friendly.
HOW TO USE IT: Stamp one on business cards or at the end of your email, link to a Facebook page, contact information or resume.
VIEW IT: To view the info on the code you need to have a smartphone or tablet equipped with a camera and a code-reading app. I use RedLaser for my iphone which scans barcodes too.
Are QR Codes Dead?; Read about the dos and donts of using QR codes and their longevity in Forbes.
